58 cal, 1-90 twist. Alexander Henry style rifling.

Made to shoot hard round balls fast!

Not your typical underhammer, a slide underhammer.

Fashioned after the Carleton pistol.

In my large frame, the last two that I made have spring plungers for tension on the triggers. No funky bent spring wire.

Found a better picture of my 1-30 twist 50 cal.

The wood is from my very first gun.

The receiver has gone thru several changes.

Originally it was 1" wide, now it is 7/8".

Much nicer balance and carry!

You n several other just keep showing all of these nice Under-Hammer models. I am slowly succumbing to the eye candy. I have the one i am working on with 2 .40 cal barrels. I will change them out. If 'all keep posting pic's i will start another parts build when this one is done. Maybe a .45 to shoot sabot bullet combo.

The 7 bore shoots a 1000 grain ball at 1100 fps.
This is what happens when shooting trees,

The top picture shows the back of the ball [round center] and how it flowed around to the back.

7 bore, made from stainless tubing.7gaStock.jpg
The stock is walnut laminated to an aluminum center.

H&A hammer and trigger.

The position of the sun affects the sight picture. [ my best guess]
A two shot test on different days.
I can tell you that it shoots length ways thru a deer at 25-30 yards.

Now about recoil, add a bunch more powder, and it will nock your glasses off!!!

And I have done some choke work to it, not sure how that will affect round ball shooting.
