I have not seen a conversion to sml. I presume a breech plug is threaded into the chamber, and that the breech plug in some manner uses a large rifle primer.
Does anyone make a conversion to work with percussion caps? This would require modification to the firing pin and receiver.
I dont believe that ive ever heard of a #11 conversion in a 45/70. But this guy has 2 conversions for sale. A sst and a blued. Very tempting

No pigs showed up until after 1:00 am both days. Too late for me to be sitting in a stand. I only hunted for about an hour after dark both days. That was late enough for me. Done hunting. Need to spend more time with the wife and family on this trip. Better luck next year.

I love the 45-70. I have 3 of them. (Did have 4) Every time I see one at a good price I'll check it out. I'm keeping my eye out for a Marlin 1895 Cowboy to go with my 1895 Guide Gun and 1895 SBL. My other is a Pedersoli Sharps Repo. Sorry you didn't get a hog. You surely had some good medicine for them. Nice looking rifle and a good shooter too.

Good luck on your hunt. I have one in 444 Marlin and it is an extremely accurate gun.
Me too in 35 Whelen, it;s a kicker but I'd rather have the recoil than leave the muzzle brake on, LOUD even with ear plugs..just my 2 cents worth..Trader

Mine kicks like a mule but will shoot my hand loads extremely well. I can’t stand the muzzle brake on mine.
