Had a gravy train shot on a doe this afternoon....my greediness had me wait for the fella' that was behind her. She was head hidden broadside at 20 ft for 30 seconds waiting for him.. Anyway, he popped up at the same range and busted me picking up the gun. He did the ol' look away look back real quick number. I had the gun "almost" shouldered when some distant shooting perked the doe up onto alert and didn't want her to bust me. He decided to bolt and as he did I squeezed the trigger. End result....no deer. It's all good though!! When I shot the gun didn't feel as "crisp" as it usually does. (disc elite 50 w 2 triple 7 magnum pellets) I did have a ton of clothes on...but it just didn't seem right. I also had a devil of a time cleaning this thing after one shot!! It took more work than a range day. The breechplug didn't have any un burnt looking powder...it was just the barrel was filthy. Powder was new...opened it a few weeks ago to check the gun and it seemed good then. Any thoughts?? Thanks fella's.
