Ruger 77/50 for a Benjaman

Local guy had advertised a Ruger 77/50, like new - It really was like new.
Even had a cleaning tube..
Has anyone tried to convert one of these away from #11, I’m even thinking module with Lg rifle primer?
Or even re-barreled one?

It includes a bolt nose that holds a 209 primer, firing pin and breachplug

Wow, that's nice. Badger Ridge has a 209 kit for it.

Get the bolt nose conversion, you will be very happy. I've got 2- 77/50s converted. The conversion allows installation of the 209 primer so much easier and the slot in the bolt nose for the primer is indexed to prevent any blowback upwards towards optics when the bolt is in the closed position.

I just recently saw one for sale locally in a laminated stock but I’m not spending $250 to shoot 209 primers. Lots of other guns out there that’ll do that.

To shoot Blackhorn209: the rifle needs a sealed breech 209 system (like what I sell & install), the projectile must be sealed (ie sabots), and full powered or magnum 209s.

The Badger Ridge kits are well worth it and are a great investment IF you are serious about shooting or hunting with that rifle. I wouldn't even consider buying a cap if not for cap and ball revolvers!

I took my stainless 77/50 to Africa in 2005 with only a musket cap conversion at the time, and it did everything I asked of it. I shot Swiss 3-fg my outfitter got for me over there. I got BR's conversion a short while back . Now I want another to rebarrel to .45 cal. I can't envision me needing any other in-line . I just LOVE the Ruger.

i shoot one for deer hunting. i have also rebarreled one for my buddy. i have converted 3 of the rifles to have a closed breech(my design not BR). i did mine before BR came out with theirs, not a knock. I just like to tinker. Everyone has shot lights out.
