So my Uncle & I did a holiday gun swap. He got the 1917 enfield that had been sporterized & rebarrelled to 300 Winchester & I took home a brand new Ruger 77/50. What a beauty Clark! I love it. Light weight & I cant wait to shoot it. Now I need a set of Ruger rings & a boltnose kit. This butt pad looks painful but I’ll sort that out later

Good shooting guns, killed a few deer with them owned 2 with wood stocks..they carry very nice. Both shot very good with 85 gr. pyrodex RS and 240 gr xtp w/green sabot..1 in or less at 100 yds..

The buttplate is plastic, I changed mine out with a steel one that was made by someone in FL IIRC. They also made stainless in laminate, blue in a birch stock and I believe a stainless in synthetic. I still have two new unfired in the box, just in case.

I bought one new in 97 or 98. Very accurate. My load was 90 grn of pyrodex volume and 240 hornady xtp. Also shot Barnes 250 mzs. Tack driver at 100. You may or may not have issues with miss fires. I did. Went to musket cap. Quite a lot of blowback. Trying to save enough for the badger ridge conversion, which I recommend, to convert to 209. At any rate keep the bolt Internals clean as the blow back gets inside and gums things up.

I noticed the same thing. I converted mine to a sealed breech and shoot BH209 in it. 75 grW and 250 barnes tmz in a crush rib yellow sabot.

Once that is done you have a real nice gun that isn't PLASTIC!
