Go Jo hand cleaner (without the grit) is an excellent patch lube. It's also a great bore cleaner.

I tried fast orange hand cleaner, and it work reasonably well. The only reason I tried it was because I had it on hand. I suppose the plus is that it's water-soluble which makes for easy cleanup. I think as long as you use a fiber or wool wad between the powder and the patch that it will work as good as all the other magical things that people seem to find.

What ratio of Ballistol / water did you go with?

Met a hunter whose boss used Go Jo to clean his muzzleloaders. Gave it a try, it 'works great: Also tested Go Jo as a patch lube, it's works well for that too. Go Jo works as well as, or better than, other stuff i've tried.
