209X45 Encore & 45 Shooters

I was shooting my 209X45 Encore this afternoon and I am wondering if anyone can help me out. I am using T7 FFg 75 grain weight or 100 grain volume charges and Federal 209 primers. I am swabbing the barrel after each shot and I am finding unburnt powder in the barrel. I keep my shooting in the 100 yards or less vicinity. What are your recommendations for a powder charge or should I switch to a different powder and weight?

I have been using a Hornady 200 grain SST bullet and sabot package. I didn’t get pictures of the powder residue but it was significant

Ahh, residue, yes. Which Federal 209s? Most shooters experience significant fouling (“crud ring”) with 777 and 209 primers.

I think you need a tighter fitting sabot. How hard is seating your bullet to the powder charge?

If you're certain its unburned powder then Clambake's suggestions would be the first thing I tried. After that I'd try some fffg in the T7.... faster, hotter burning.
