I'm using bullets knurled up to a bit over .454 because the bore in my Paramount is that much overbore. The bullets you're using would fall like a stone to the breech in my rifle.
Spoke to dennis at fury bullets this morning I explained about he oversized bore on CVA 45 caliber Accura rifles he said he could knurl a .403 bullets as high as .405 He is sending me some samples to try

I don't have any but someone does maybe they will send you half a dozed or so to try. I am hopeful for you someone will as this a great bunch of addicts on this board and understand the need.

Appreciate the thought But I think I am going to be OK I will let everyone know the findings

What would happen if every one who owns those guns send them back and demand they be fixed or get their money back?It sounds to as if cva makes people buy their bullets for their guns instead of the ones we would like to use,Other gun makers don't do that.Just anoother way we have to but their products.

It is corporate culture, and it has been going on since the blown up rifle fiasco in the early 90's.

I have an Accura V2 LR .45. A bullet sized to .4515 fits nicely. The first barrel was tight at the end and looser as it went down. I sent it back and it is better. Not the "Most Accurate Muzzleloader" as advertised, but acceptable.

I like heavy for caliber bullets, so I shoot .45-70 (.458) bullets) sized down to fit. I bought a couple of Lee sizers in .454, and .452 and then size it just right in my adjustable Swinglock die. With soft bullets, I think I could probably just do one pass with the Swinglock.

I've never tried Powerbelts.

I have a new CVA Optima V2 .50 Nitride and could never get good groups with Powerbelts and White Hots. My best groups so far have been with Hornady SST 250g and TC Superglide Shockwave 250g with Pyrodex pellets. Looking forward to trying Barnes TEZ 250g with BH209 soon.

I have the same gun. My load is a .452/300gr. XTP in a Harvester crushrib or smooth sabot (either work)90 gr. Volume Blackhorn 209 powder. One inch groups or less at 100yds. a proven deer killing load! Pellets aren't consistent, use loose powder...

Are these issues only limited to the 45 caliber CVA's? I am looking to pick up an MR-X and am wondering if i should just go with the 50 cal version due to all the issues i have been reading about the 45 cal.
Thoughts please....

The only CVA rifle I'd buy today is either a Wolf or an Optima in 50 caliber. All the rifles made after the ELR era started are suspect. The quality the Bergara name once stood for is gone in my eyes. My 2016 Accura V2 Plains Rifle in 50 caliber is as fine a rifle as I could hope for. And my 2019 Paramount is an overbored pain in my ass. I wish I never would have bought it. And CVA/BPIs customer service is a joke.
To be perfectly honest, if it were and I was in the market for a new muzzleloader I wouldn't look any farther than a Knight Mountaineer. American made and they stand behind what they make.
