I have some pyrodex from about 1995 that I tried about two years ago and worked just fine. I didn't chronograph anything for speed but it sounded alright and if I get a chance this summer I will chronograph it as I want to work out some new loads anyway. I was comparing it to 777 and it didn't seem a whole lot different on what little shooting I did with it.

You should be fine as long as it's RS and it's sealed. I shot pyrodex rs for years and never had any problems with it. Just the dreaded crud ring after a few shots! 😁

I know Pyrodex get a bad rep. It is all I use in my percussion's I keep it dry inside throw some of the silica dry packets in it does just fine by me. I know for flash pans does not ignite and gums up flash holes. I am a percussion and in line nut

I’ve used Pryodex P for years with my White ML’s with no issues and great accuracy. I just didn’t like how oily the powder residue was. On the positive side I could shoot as many times that I wanted without having to swab the bore.
