The game plot I planted in dry ground on 3 October is not doing well.  These game plots were seeded with winter rye and oats in wet ground on 10 October.   The deer are hitting them already.   Planted another plot in wet ground yesterday.

falcon, is the primary reason your current plots are not doing well due only to lack of rain, or have the deer nibbled on your new plots :?:

The deer hit two plots hard.   The plot that was hit the hardest is the one that is least damaged.  It is the one in the second photo.   That plot was planted in new ground with heavy sod.   The plot that died was not grazed much.

There has been no measurable rain in that area for over 45 days.

Any streams or springs near by that you could run a hose from to your plots? The whiskey boys do it all the time for their needs.
