Many years ago George McGowen rebarreled a 22-250 Rem700 for me…(I saw his ad in American Rifleman circa 1980s ….it was the roughest bore, quickest fouling mediocre shooter I have ever owned…George said 1 moa was well within the standard expectations of the industry and obviously there was no reason to “fix” what wasn’t broken…(22-250 is known for its benchrest level accuracy)
I just chalked that up to experience….
I’m sure his descendants and new operators have updated equipment and business practices but when I see the McGowan name …I feel obligated to offer fair warning
