Thanks all, found them at Deercreek, went ahead and got 4 of them they are only 3.00 but i wanted to make it worth their time, hate to buy just one.
Great ideas all, the little brass nipple cup looks really nice, might just get one.
I'll give ya one.Send you address to [email protected] might as well share a few. That leaves 2 left over if a couple guys want one.

Good! Even if it is a little loose it will keep the wood clean. Too small open it up a little. Just take care that the nipple seats all the way down. Don't want it to blow out. After all the work finishing the wood it's the best 3 bucks spent. Post more pics! Old farts like pics. Might want to wear Eye Pro first few shots. It will redirect the blast and cap frag.

the one I need is sold out. they must be the ones that break the most. they only have the new style & I need the old style. thank's again for the help.
Toot--Just looking at the springs on Deer Creek. The relation between the ring and tail end of the spring look the same? That is what counts. Get the new one and try it. They did not change the whole lock because of a flawed spring shape. The old v shape would break more. Bet it will work. Let us know.!!

GOOD advice there, been a long time since i fired that booger,i keep a cork in the barrel while it hangs in my man cave, not really any good places to shoot around here anymore,we have to go to a place near Sequoia Park to shoot but only this time of year.

it is the old one that I need. I ordered the new one and a no go. thanking you for the help.

How many grains of powder would be right for the rifle,i have a lot of round ball, was thinking pillow ticking, start with 40 work up?It's been so long since i have shot it i forgot how much powder i used.

Data from the CVA book. .45 rifle load. .440 ball. Patch .012 to .015. Powder 45 to 75 gr of 2f. ---40 would be a good start and plenty for the range. 3f will work just fine. Start with a thin patch. It can be hard to seat. Ticking may be too thick. I use a old thin T shirt. The one that is so worn out the wife wants you to through out but is still the best to sleep in!
