Thread 'Hornady 290gr Bore Driver FTX - 50 cal'Nice BC, would love to hear some feed back on how well the bullet obsturation bites the rifling. Why does it need to be .499?
I was thinking the same thing. Looks long for the average 1:28.I wonder what the minimum twist rate is for this bullet?

According to the Hornady website, the FTX is jacketed but the ELD-X is gilded.ELD-X is jacketed, vs a Powerbelt ELR which is plated lead.
gilding is the type of metal, not the processAccording to the Hornady website, the FTX is jacketed but the ELD-X is gilded. Very much like the PB ELR, i believe.

Thx, i thought it was a plating process.gilding is the type of metal, not the process
yes if PB performed like Golddots there would be a lot of happy hunters.Gilding metal is just a copper alloy, similar to a soft brass. PBs are electro plated with copper like the Speer line of bullets but Speer does a better job of it.
