Looking at a gun with the proof with Crown over V. 1880 cartridge gun.

Gunmakers Guild London proof house? If its close to the breech. A couple other houses used it but they put it somewhere else, i think there should also be a ‘GP’ nearby that mark, for a final proof. Actually i think is called a view mark? Not a proof mark. Its listed on the NRA museum sight.

Here are some pics under the barrel. No other marks, except the retailer and the town.

I am a little bit worried about the rough marks on the forestock
If theres no other marking then its probably not proofed. Def not “Nitro Proofed”. It looks/sounds like a really old gun. Pre nitro, pre-America even.

It has 20ga and 10.3/72mm rifle (.416) Cartridge. The gun is gorgeous, Decided to buy it! It all checks out.
