A picture would be nice, and information. Barrel length, twist, caps , 209 primer, inline ?

12” barrel. Percussion caps. No idea on the twist as I acquired it used. I am assuming inline( that is what I was told). I will have to post pics later.

I’d start with a load of 50 grs of 3F black powder, or 3F T7, or pyrodex P and a 240 gr saboted bullet . Also use a magnum cap. Powder charge can be adjusted to suit the needs.

HC,

Is the 3F in pellet form or any of the above mentioned. The T7 is that triple seven powder? I have triple seven at home. Any recommendations on specific brand of savored bullet. Thanks for the help

No, 3f is the fffg powder form of Triple 7. Similar to a 50grain triple seven pellet tho. Stick with ffg(2f) or fffg(3f) T7 because you will find some where between 25gr and 80gr(max load) of loose powder will be your sweet spot for which ever bullet or ball youre shooting.

Afaik the Traditions pistols were often faster twists, mine is a 1:20”. But that Indiana Hunter could be a slow roundball twist. Knowing the bore twist rate will help figure out what projectile to use.
Traditions is pretty good about keeping an archive of their past offerings. Might check with them on their website for a twist rate.
