It is an excellent way to go. If it was legal in AR I would do it to. We have mostly reasonable and only as restrictive as necessary laws unfortunately the way the politicians worded the definition that separates cartridge guns from muzzleloaders rules them out.
It seems fun that we have people making laws on subjects they do not understand.
As far as safety is concerned any one who has done much gunsmithing should not have any problem. Lee
