Optima gets bloodied

Took small spike last week with 308 hunting rest of season with black powder. This guy was third deer I saw this morning, about 9:30 first was small 4 or 6 couldn’t get decent look at. About 1/2 hr later a doe comes hot footing through. I kept my eye on area doe came from a while later this guy comes zig zagging through woods tracking doe. I saw rack was tall and decided to go for it as he was passing a good size tree when his shoulders came past I let go. Couldn’t tell at first if I got a hit smoke cleared saw him jump and take off diagonally out of my sight. Waited about hour and a half went looking. I couldn’t pinpoint exactly here he was so I approximated about where Seached for blood or torn up tracks after like 1/2 hr I found him. Thanked God for letting me find him.
