My brother gave me a Remington stock.

I fitted it to my test action, so that I could but the other stock back on it's action.

Not sure how the barrel clamp rest will work, but it is very stable.

Now to shoot some powder coated bullets out of the 1-28 twist 50 cal.

First shot after mounting scope at 30 yds.
Never been that lucky before.

Green ones were 240 Sierras in green sabots at 50 yds. I like 2 and3.
Blue ones are .500 sized powder painted 410 Hornady with sub base. Loose fit need .501s.
A good start for a new barrel.

My latest 450 grain bullet.

The first shots.
I wonder how fast I can drive a powder painted bullet compared to a lead lubed bullet.
Most say to keep the lead slugs under 1400 fps for accuracy.
Just wondering if the paint will let them go faster?

Looking good! Only one way to find out about the speed question. Will you be adding a forend on this rifle in the future?
I need to see how fast they are going with 80FF and keep adding powder.
The forestock is going to be just a brass tube about 9"s long, same material as the thimbles. Nothing fancy, this is a hunting gun.
