Morning:
Looking for some info on working up
a load to hunt with for my Gonic GA 90
50 cal muzzleloader 15" pistol barrel.
Type of powder and amount of powder by volume
to use in this muzzleloading pistol?
This barrel has a breech plug that is set up to use 209 primers.
I have No Excuses 50 cal 460 grain bullets.
Any help is much appreciated.
Thank you; Steve

I have never shot the Gonic pistol but I do hunt with Gonic muzzleloader and use the 460 no excuses sized to .500 and 80 grains of 777 ffg. Gun likes a slip fit conical. That load would be pretty stout out of a handgun. I hunt with a optima V2 pistol with 80 grains of 777 ffg loose but use a 250 grain sabot / bullet combo. I would start at 60 grains and go up from there and see how she shoots.

Evening fliowa:
Sorry for the late reply.
Thank you for the information and I will try
to get to the range and shoot the Gonic GA 90
pistol. I will start with 60 grains as you suggest
and I appreciate you for your reply.
Steve

Sounds like a rare pistol you have Steve! How about a pic?
I have a CVA optima V2 pistol that is a fun gun to shoot when I can get away.
Good luck at the range!
