I'm on vacation this week, so got out early this morning with the new Ultra-lite to get it sighted in and start seeing what it likes. Today, I was shooting a .452, 265 gr Fury STB sized to .451 using a vege wad with 110 gr (by volume) of BH209 and CCI mag primers.
After initial sight in at 50 yards, I moved things out to 100 yards. All I can say is this rifle will shoot. 100 yards using the load data mentioned above.
After a little tweaking at 100 yards and a few more groups similar to the one above, I decided to use my last two 110 gr measured charges to see what it could do at 200 yards. I wasn't disappointed. Two shots within 2 inches of each other at 200 yards. The Burris scope I'm shooting has a ballistic reticle that I'm going to have to play with for POI but here I was seeing what kind of grouping I could squeeze out.
At this point, I had to get back to the house so I called it a day. I'll do a bit more load tweaking throughout the Summer and early Fall before muzzleloader season but right now, I'm pretty happy with what I'm seeing.
