Got lucky and bought one that had hardly been shot. It has a 3lb trigger and guy said it was like that when he bought it new. Just put 2x hinge pin and Bellm firing pin and spring. Heavy locking lug spring. Just want to upgrade the breech plug to an Arrowhead breech plug and I think I’m done.

I always put in the 52# hammer springs. Something to think about.

As far as I know the TC Encore is no longer made. You can find TC Encore frames on many auction sites. There is a company called SSK making frames and barrels . There are a few specialty barrel makers besides SSK making quality products for the Encore.

I may be biased since we own three Encore rifles plus a slew of barrels. I am partial to the MGM barrels and Bullberry barrels. I get parts from Mike Bellm. Mike and his son sell TC parts as well as barrels. Mike is the guru of Encore actions.

If there is one thing I would watch out for is proper lock up. The locking lugs are on the barrel. This issue can be corrected with a little patience. Triggers can be reworked to break like glass. Hinge pins can be loose which effects accuracy. There is a corrective solution for loose hinge pins.

Would I buy another TC Encore? Absolutely.
Eabco is another source for Encore barrels, stocks, and parts.

I got lucky and local gun shop had a new blued receiver rifle and pistol stock and a 12”44 mag barrel in a original white box from Rochester nh.I was planning on putting together a prohunter brux smokeless gun.went a different direction and found this barrel mgm 6.5 creedmore. Very accurate
Cool!

I fell deep into this rabbit hole and am stuck.

I bought an Encore frame off Gunbroker, an SSK stainless 410, 3" chambered smoothbore barrel with a .380 choke tube, it's16+ inch. I got Keystone grey grips. I installed a Holosun green reflex, and I'll carry it in a Shamrock brown leather shoulder holster when it arrives next week. I got a box of 2 3/4" B&P #9 plain lead shot for practice and 3" Federal Premium TSS18, #9 for turkeys. Its patterns on a turkey head target show I'll kill any within 30 yds, but beyond that is doubtful. My Wisconsin turkey season opens May 8.

This project cost a truckload of dollars. MGM barrels are less expensive, but they don't make a 410 specific barrel and I didn't find anyone else that does, and there were none on Gunbroker when I was in the buying mood. I think there is one now. I actually like the looks of the original TC 14" ribbed barrel better. Some folks show they're getting 40 yd killing patterns with TSS, but I don't see how with a short barrel. As usual, ammo at the local Scheels is limited. I couldn't get a 3" lead load for comparison to the 3"TSS.
