. i ordered some 250 TEZs a few months ago and the stock thingy/jag on the end of my CVA KS was too shallow . when it touched the tip of the TEZ it was still a good 1/8 inch maybe more from touching the edge/shoulder of the TEZ and i'd been concerned that may cause accuracy issues . last week these were on sale for (i think) $17 a pack and since it came with an aligner made to work perfectly with the 290 TEZs i ordered 2 packs . FWIU .... IF i ever go after elk they'll do a good job .

the steel threaded piece on the KS didn't want to come out easy (2 pair of pliers with a dish cloth doubled on each to protect the sides and threads) but the tez one came out with a little effort so i put it on my KS . so i can start the TEZs without fear of harming them now . i've got a brass jag for my range rod that fits the TEZs but in a few weeks i'm gonna i'm gonna order a cleaning/loading "SpinJag Match/Hunter .50 cal"

I bought that cva palm saver to start my lehigh bore riding 45cal bullets. I already have the barnes loading jag and tez bullets. BTW the barnes loading jag will spin with a right hand twist as long as you don’t tighten it to much. This is the lehigh I shoot in my 45. 3B3F843D-BBB7-4259-A34B-0F6D1F2E8938.jpeg

What kind of palm saver/bullet starter is that? I shoot the 290gr TEZs and got a bunch on sale a few years ago. Very devastating on deer haven’t shot Moose, Elk or Bear with them yet. :)

You're gonna like those spin-jags. It's kinda noisy holding the gun still and walking around it while in a tree stand. Not that I've ever done that, mind you...

Barnes Spit Fire T-EZ 290gr Flat Base is my everything pill. Add 77gr BH 209 weighed and I'm grinnin'.
I think I may purchase that nucklesaver and get out the heat shrink and wife's hair dryer.
I've been using two types of T/C's starters. This one lately:

CVAs barrels have a recessed crown so that swell on the ksbs never touches the rifling and it's all alumunum and rubber , other than the steel screw for the starter tip . nothing wrong with putting on some extra protection though ......
