I am familiar with caplocks and flintlocks, but totally new to inlines. I picked up a CVA Buckhorn Magnum in as new condition. I'd like to work up a load for it and want to know what kind of projectiles would be good for the 1:28 twist rate. I'm leaning towards No Excuse bore size bullets rather than 45 caliber bullets with sabots, but am concerned about barrel leading. What do you guys think? Has anyone tried the No Excuse bullets?

I ran the 300 grain 45 cal harvesters down mine until I upgraded to a break action inline. It like those and just about any other 300 gr in a sabot. It did not like the T/C sabots though or powerbelts.

I use 65grs to 75grs T7 3F or Swiss 3F and a felt wad when I shoot NE conicals. The wad and low powder charge keeps the barrel from leading. I've had better accuracy with the 420's in a 1 in 28.
