I had an interesting experience on this past Sunday I was shooting a new toy from Traditions it was not consistent the load was 90 gr FFFg 777 at the end I picked up a Harvester sabot and noticed the cup had almost no rifling and some looked almost unfired. Now it was about 28 degrees.
I went back to the range the following day temps were in the low 40’s and I upped the charge to 95 grains it literally shot hole in hole so it wasn’t the gun.
So my question is how cold does it have to be before sabots fail to expand ?

Late response.
I shoot Harvester crush rib sabots and have not noticed any negative effects on a cold day. Irrc, the coldest day I shot some was about 20°. No change in accuracy. I shoot 70 grains of 3f Swiss Holy Black.
