Burris Scope Mounts

Last year I picked up a Savage Model 10 chambered in .243 with a Leupold VariX-II 3x9 on it for a steel at $175. The scope was not mounted propeely since the front ring was at the bell and the rear one was on the power selector. I want to remount the scope properly using either extension rings or extension bases. What are your opinions of the following options?

1. Burris Trumount 2-piece bases standarded rings
2. Leupold 1-piece base extension rings
