My brother just last week took a great Australian red stag. It might not be one of the genetically altered frankensteins you see in game farms in NZ but for a true representation of a wild red deer he's a pearler. 8x7 x35 long by 33" wide.
We battle a blessing and a curse here in that there is a 12 month season in my state. So although you can't hunt them anytime of the year so to can the idiots who want to bomb everything up and shoot all the young stags they see not to mention being rife with spotlighters. This makes shooting a mature stag a real challenge. But we employ lots of restraint with the motto you have to let good stags grow to shoot great ones and it finally paid off.
The last pic this head is in the middle. The one on the left is mine which is a story for another time.
Enjoy!
