I must say she's out to impress!
Used my go to load: a 250 grain .45 XTP in a Harvester crush rib over 70 grains of 3f Swiss lit by a CCI 209M.
At 50 yards my groups were a boringly consistent 3/4 inch for 3 rounds. She hit very low with the TC aperture sight. Probably going to need a lower front sight . The CCIs sealed pretty well. Between shot patches showed some of the copper colored residue. There is noticeably less visible now. Recovered sabots looked very fine. Load tension was rather heavy. Not at all unexpected.
Recoil was a bit stout. I'm guessing the extra 4 inches of barrel may be giving the Hornadys a bit more velocity than my 24 inch Firehawk.
I'm quite pleased for a first time out. The load has been superb in every rifle I've tried it in.
Next time out I'll try an equivalent load of BH209. I see no need send the 250s much above 1600 fps. Hasn't let me down yet!
The non magnum 300s should be spectacular.
Good rifle!
