My first plot was a failure.  Plot was planted  about 15 April:  The soil stayed cold.  These two plots were planted with black eyed peas on 7 May.   About 7" of rain fell on 17-20 May.   The ground was still very wet yesterday.

It depends on the rain and how hard the deer hit the young plants.    If plants are doing well come about labor day i'll let them mature.   Otherwise plots will be re-planted in winter rye and oats.
