i've had my 1994 Toyota 4X4 pickup 20 years this month. Bought it used with 8,000 miles. Total price was $14,000. Truck came with Lock Right lockers front and rear.

Truck now has 206,000 miles. High mileage 2.4 RE Toyota engines are notorious for breaking timing chains and destroying engines. Checked the chain guides yesterday; the drivers side guide is broken but in place: It might last 20,000 miles or blow up tomorrow. Toyota dealer wants about $1,300 to fix the problem. Truck will sit until i get around to replacing the timing chain, timing gears and oil pump.

i've done this with other Toyotas. It's is not a hard job, just a big pain in the rear.

I've got a newer 4X4 Tacoma but it cramps my style: No winch and no mud tires.

its not a fun job. Worse on the new stuff thats packed in the engine bay.
