is this a problem?

:p

I know I have read where people don't like the sabot longer than the bullet....

thanks in advance for any help

Only your rifle will tell you for sure. I have shot sabots short and longer then the bullet. Depending on which rifle, the accuracy changes. My Knight Disc for instance will shoot almost anything with the short black Harvester sabots. In the longer sabots, then I need a heavier bullet.

Interesting topic though..

Have to agree with cayuga - you really have to try it to see,

One thing you'll want to consider though if the sabot is longer than the bullet - will the tip of your ramrod fit properly on the bullet tip to seat it properly or will it push on the sabot petals only? If it fouls on the petals, you might not be able to seat the bullet properly, or at least consistently.
