I've had a few "roll on the floor" laughter fits over the years watching critters go about their business. One favorite was when a friend and I were sitting next to a tree on a WV deer hunt. He had a bow and I had a flintlock. A large bear was walking lumbering up hill in front of us when he happened to notice us. The rascal actually came over to say howdy. Bears, in general, do not make me nervous; I love bears and have a nice book collection about various bear subjects. He gave us a good study then continued on uphill. Still only a few yards away he was really making a racket turning over logs and boulders looking for food. As it starting getting dark we could hear a bunch of coyotes on a nearby mountain peak howling. The bear? Well he was still a rocks throw away having supper. Neither of us got a deer but but the bear greeting was the highlight of the trip.
