I picked up some Winchester 777 primers today at Dick's Sporting Goods. I hope they work better with the 777 crud ring. I have a box of 777 pellets left so I figured I'd try the primers since I need to use the box before trying BH209. If I could just get a follow up shot sabot seated I'd be happy with not swabbing after every shot. I tried during OH ML season to get a second round seated and could never get it to my line on the ramrod. Anyone know if this will help or did I just waste six bucks?

I bought some T7 primers a year ago,I swore I wouldn't buy them again.I had more duds then I had fired primers.I emailed Winchester and they told me to send them back for testing. After paying the UPS bill and three months later they wrote me back with there test results saying my primers were faulty. They gave me about 10bucks worth of coupons towards there products. My cousin use's T7 primers and loves them...

I currently use regular Winchester 209primers and have had nothing but great results....

I bought a bunch of them to try when I was using 777 loose. They did not seem to make much difference in the crudring. What they did do is cause carbon deposits just like Blackhorn does now. I was cleaning my breach plug with a drill long before BH was invented. I am happy to say that with the modified BP with the Lehigh liner and Blackhorn both problems are solved. Lee

When i was using 777 loose i tried them and they helped with the crud ring considerably. Still had to swab between shots tho, just wasn't as bad. However i don't use 777 anymore. BH 209 for me now.

with the T7 powder no matter what make of 209 primer you use the CRUDE ring [deposit] will be present , i know because that is all that i use and have tried them all [209 primers]..but some people on this forum use the Black horn loose powder and got rid of the crude ring ..accuracy in a MUZZLELOADER. is achived with a clean dry barrel ..
