Hi guys! So I've been browsing the site Muzzle-loaders.com for some inline muzzleloaders. Something powerful and accurate but at a decent price. I wanted to buy all of my supplies needed to start shooting from this site and I wanted to check in with some of the experts here to make sure the shipment of my supplies to my door and the shooting goes smoothly.
I was thinking of getting the CVA Wolf Stainless - PR2110S. https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/cva-wolftm-stainless-pr2110s.html
I read through the pdf manual attached and also watched the tutorial video in the side panel - these were helpful for getting me started with what I need to know.
The tutorial video suggests the IMR White Hots for pelletized powder - now I'm assuming this is not a smokeless powder because the first rule they emphasized was to never load the gun with a smokeless powder. I read some of the sticky threads on the forum list and the White Hots were not included in the list of powders recommended to use, which is why I wanted to check in about that. This is what I'm talking about: https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/muzzleloader-powder-primers/imr-white-hots-pellets.html
I learned that I would need some 209 Primers. These were the only ones in stock that seemed to match the description, Federal 209As. https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/muzzleloader-powder-primers/federal-209a-primers.html
Now for the bullets, this is where I am a little unsure. I am living in California and I have learned that many bullets are not legal to shoot here, such as the ones shown in the video, being the PowerBelt Aerolite .50 Cal/250 Grain - AC1550AT. It seems all the PowerBelt brand bullets are illegal. I refined the search to only show California legal bullets, and decided that the Thor .50 Cal Conical bullets (one size fits all, so I won't have to buy the size-testing kit) could suffice. Would these bullets work for the CVA Wolf PR2110S? https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/bull...ll-bore-conical-247-to-300-grain-bullets.html
I also added on some breech-plug grease to my cart which the video informed I should use. This was the only one in stock that seemed like the right kind: https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/thompson-center-t-17-breech-plug-grease.html
And finally, I thought a bullet starter would be helpful as well: https://www.muzzle-loaders.com/powerbelt-bullet-starter-ac1500.html
I know those are a lot of links and I'm asking for pretty specific info - but I really hope someone here can confirm for me that I will not be making a mistake by buying all of these together! I want them all to arrive in one shipment together.
The second part of my post is about the shipment. The Muzzle-loaders.com website says that all orders are rush-shipped right to your door, no FFL necessary, except for a few states, thankfully California is not an exception. They ship from Oregon so with standard shipping they should arrive for me in 1-2 days. I will stay home during delivery day so I can give a signature to the delivery person.
Could there be anything unexpected that could occur during the shipment? Could I be asked any questions about background checks, or anything that could prevent me from receiving the gun and supplies with no questions asked? I just want to be sure that I won't be denied the delivery due to... I don't know. The combination of the supplies I ordered = something illegal? Ha, that's just why I came here to ask. Sometimes I'm quick to jump the gun on my decisions and fear that I could overlook something, being new to all of this.
So what do you think? Thanks for reading and I appreciate all feedback.
