just want to know if its ok to shoot this powder out of an original disc rifle?

Yes it can be used but it will destroy the orange discs. At least let me say that I shot over 30 rounds of Blackhorn 209 out of mine, had no ignition problems and accuracy was very good.

A much better powder in the Knight I found was Pyrodex RS. Yes it is much more dirty then blackhorn 209. And it fouls more. Also you have to swab between shots for best accuracy. But it does give outstanding accuracy and it all cleans up at the end of the day. Also it is a lot more cost effective and kinder to the discs if you want to get a few more shots through them.

Yes, I shoot B209 in my 'original' disc with the orange discs. I took 9 deer with it last Fall. The only problem I had is when I tried to re-use some orange discs. I don't know what I was thinking, but it gave me an ignition issue. I had previously only used a few a 2nd time at the range. It's back to fresh discs only for hunting.
