I have an older 50 cal T/C Hawkins Kit gun that I shot about 20 years ago.
I all ways used 85 gr. Black Powder and a patched ball.
I would like to ask if you can use pellets and sabots in this gun. I would like to start to hunt deer with this again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

The old T/C Hawkins are not made for pellets. Especially in flintlock. There are a few new flintlocks that can shoot pellets but yours is not one one them. Your kind of stuck with black powder in loose form. But then, thats the charm of those rifles.

85 grains and a ball will bring down a deer just as quick as a conical, if hit well. Thats just my opinion though, I used to have a few conicals but don't remember where I put them.
