I just returned from a successful East Texas hog hunt. It was a great trip and met fantastic people, southern hospitality is amazing. This was my first trip out of state with my muzzeloader, a .45 Knight. Hogs were going to be the test for my deer load, 120 grains of BH209 and a 200 grain SW. Hogs have the reputation for being some very tough critters and there was some question on the ability of the SW to hold together. After two hogs there is no more question, the bullet passed with flyng colors. The first hog, 150 lbs, was about 50 yards broadside and the shot hit him through both shoulders. There was no chance for bullet recovery, it was a pass through. A bang-flop, Couldn't ask or any more than that. The next one was a little over 100 yards away, same shot same result. I was truely impressed with the way that the load and bullet performed. This load is going to remain my hunting load.
