Just applied for the Oregon and Utah Concealed Carry. Now I need to find the appropriate firearm.

I would like at .45acp.
I have been looking at and impresed by the Glock 36..

What is your favorite CC?

Thanks, in advance, OEH.

Sig P239 in .40 s+w. Carried in a Sparks Versa max IWB holster.Extra clip in back pocket holster.

My only carry gun now is a HK USP but its to uncomfortable to carry, it has served me well for years. My next carry gun will be a ruger sp101 no hammer.

Rossi double barrel 12 ga. coach gun.

Beretta 92F 9mm
a little bulky, but I can shoot the eye out of a sparrow with it.

Currently looking at the Kahr P or CW. I have a small, fat hand.
Also reconsidering whether a .45 is actually needed. Maybe a subcompact .40 would be fine. OEH

410S with Crimson trace laser grips...... Cal .40S&W

Normal carry now after retireing from the PD after 37 years is a Glock 30 and or a 19 both loaded up with the +p, on fairly paranoid days its a SIG-226 and +p and or a 1911 with +p

Glock 23 OWB in winter under light jacket, Glock 27 IWB summer. Both .40 cal. 27 easier to conceal for me in the summer under an untucked shirt.
Also have a Glock 22 for IDPA and late night wake up calls. As you can see I'm a Glock nut.

works every time !!!

My EDC is the Springfield XDm40 in .40S&W. However, I am considering carrying my FNP45 as my EDC, but I need more range time with it.

Check out Defensivecarry.com for all the information you need pertaining to concealed carry.

Wilson Combat Service Grade Protector or in other words a 4" 1911 .45ACP in a Wison Gunleather IWB. Sometimes carry a Glock 23 in a Safariland IWB.

Wisconsin does not allow a concealed carry weapon except under extreme circumstances. Police officers can carry them and I believe if they have approval from the State a private investigator can carry them. We are currently (have been) fighting to get a CCW law on the books but there is a lot of argument on both sides of the fence.

Being a police officer, now retired, I normally carried off duty a Colt Combat Commander in .45 acp. I used a Jackass Leather Goods shoulder rig that held two extra magazines and a set of cuffs. It was comfortable to carry, with a light jacket easy to hide, and that little Colt carried locked and loaded, had all the fire power I could ask for.

The other weapon I would carry from time to time was a S&W 686 4" in .357 magnum in a Bianchi side holster. Again, a light jacket with the high pancake would cover it nice. Then a speed load in the pocket was about all I was going to need.

I also from time to time just carried a FIE .38 special two shot chrome derringer. It was real easy to carry and while you would not want to get into a fire fight, at close range I could give you a bad day. Out to five yards I could hit a man size target with it real quick.

I also have/had a Iver Johnson .22 caliber double action pistol that was borrowed by my father 20+ years ago. So I never had a chance to enjoy that. He had no handgun in the house and he was scared about a home invasion. So he asked if I had anything he could "borrow." I had just purchased the Iver Johnson, so I took him out, let him fire it, then gave him some hollow points to load it with. He still has the gun and the same box of hollow points.

A question for all of you that carry a concealed weapon... When you are stopped by law enforcement for any reason are you required to immediately tell them you are armed and carry proof of CCW? The reason I ask is, I was watching a TV show on the Alaska State Troopers and when they would stop a car I noticed the driver would tell them they were armed and where the weapon was. Also I know when the law was being discussed in Wisconsin, there was a concern that people could not carry a concealed in any place that served alcohol or in any school grounds/building. It it that way where you are at.

Your right Cayuga, in NC if your are pulled over by LEO you must tell them you are a CC holder and inform them where your gun is and present your license and CC license. Most of the LEOs are pretty cool about it and are glad they are dealing with a responsible citizen. They usually dont even require you to present your weapon. But if you dont tell the officer you are carrying you can be charged with failure to inform.

NC has a whole list of places you cant carry. Any government building, anywhere that serves alcohol, which stinks because usually anywhere you take your family out to eat serves alcohol. Several sensible lawmakers tried to get this removed and change the law to you cant carry if you are consuming alcohol, but it was defeated by our liberal democrat friends in the legislature. You cant carry anywhere admission is sold or anykind of assembly. What it boils down to is you pretty much cant carry anywhere, except Wal-Mart, even with the CCW license.

Arizona pretty much has it right. They recently adopted Constitutional carry allowing anyone to carry concealed without a license. They have also been a very open carry state for years. Anywhere that serves alcohol you can still get a CCW license and your are allowed to carry as long as you are not consuming. Arizona is the one state that actually governs by the constitution.

Sorry you live in the peoples republic of Wisconsin, maybe someday they will read the Consitution and realize that the 2nd ammendment says the right to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.

In Michigan you must inform if carrying. And the back of our card carries a list of places that you can not frequent while carrying. Blood Alcohol tolerance is very low .02 and you are in trouble.

The back reads and I quote

"This license allows the licensee to carry a pistol on or about his person anywhere in the state, except a licensee shall not carry a concealed pistol at a school, on school property, day care center, child placing agency, sports arena, Stadium, bar or tavern licensed to serve liquor, church, synagogue, mosque, temple or other place of worship, entertainment facility seating more than 2500 people, hospital, dormitory or classroom of a college or university or casino or as otherwise prohibited by law. Consult the statue for complete wording of pistol free zones."

These zones are know here as criminal empowerment zones here.

A few of these have been relaxed a little over the years but not very much or nearly enough.

Full time carry is the Glock 27 with the Glock 30 stepping in from time to time. I love my Kimbers but to defend my life I want a Glock. I don't want to have fool with any safety just pull and shoot.

In states that allow a carry concealed permit, there has to be some sort of civil liability should you ever feel the need to use the weapon. Are there any State protections for you when you do feel the need to use it or does the State basically hang you out to dry to all civil law suits?

Also does local government do any certification of carry in your State? I know they were talking about those in Wisconsin having to go before a local government official, like the County Sheriff. The Sheriff (for a fee of course) would hold a weapons class. In this class you would be schooled in a shoot don't shoot scenario. Also the civil liability laws that pertain to the gun owners responsibility would be addressed. Last they were going to put you through a hands on range shooting class. Here you must prove a degree of proficiency with the weapon you intend to carry. I suspect this is for the safety of the general public so in the event you are ever forced to use the weapon in defense of your life, your not shooting up the neighborhood. Or does the State simply issue the card to you and let you hang out there on your own?
