Over the last few years i have acquired quite a collection of sabots either from buting them, having them given to me or other ones that I don't know where they came from.
I would like to go through them and mark what brand and number they are and their diameter. When I measure them with a dial caliper so much depends on just how hard I squeeze the jaws of the calipers together. It is much different from measuring the bullet because the bullet is hard.
I seem to have better luck measuring the thickness of the petals and then multiplying by two and adding the bullet diameter. Is this how you did it to come up with the sticky post "sabot and bullet diameters"?
My dial calipers is older and not the digital style but that sure shouldn't make any difference.
