I probably posted I wouldn't get another T/C Hawken.
I lied 😁
It just kept staring at me at work.
Anywho, today I ordered a new barrel for it from Jason at Rice barrels.
50 cal., 30", 1:66,
He is going to install my new breech plug I sent him and I will do the rest.
I plan on browning it.
This is how I got it.
Bore was bit rusty but no pitting.

Got my new barrel today.
Hopefully have it built in a week or so.
Nice thing is will fit in my T/C and y Investarms Hawkens.

You can never have too many Hawken rifles or TC Hawken rifles at that.
I just need a .45 cal to finish my collection.
it’s too bad we Canadians don’t have access (as easily) to percussion barrels from the US unless we hold an FFL.
Enjoy your new barrel and please share pics amd let us know how it shoots. Cheers,

Stay healthy stay safe!

Barrel is with my smith getting the sights, under lug and rib installed.
Should have it back in a few days and then just brown it.

Nice! Did it come with the peep sight, or did you put that on yourself?

I have two TC peep sights. One I picked up (by fluke) several years ago and it sits on my .58 GM barrel on my TC Hawken (was .54). I can’t remember what I paid but it was over $100 CDN. The second one I have came on a TC Renegade which for the price, was worth more than the Renegade.
Peep sights or rear aperture sights are what I was first exposed to when I joined the military and have preferred them over standard buckhorn or typical rear sights.
Williams makes one but have been out of stock for quite some time. Although the peep isn’t exactly traditional in the purists eye. As we age we want to take every advantage we can for accurate humane kills on game. Atleast for those who hunt ;)
