Sabotloader, is that a cleaning rod or a range rod. Looks pretty whippy to me?? I have had to lean into my rod sometimes on the range to get those loads dowen the tube. Can that work w/ these, I didn't get them because they looked to whippy.

I've got one of these http://www.cainsoutdoor.com/shop/item.asp?item=18091 (among many others). That one tends to be my go-to rod though as I shaped the non-jag end to mesh with a .45 caliber jag. .50 on one end, .45 on the other - and it works great. Believe me, it's got some strength at 7/16" diameter.

Dewey rods makes a nice coated steel rod but it requires an adaptor to fit standard 10-32 stuff. RMC Sports http://rmcsports.com/catalog.htm has or can make about anything you want by way of a ramrod or range rod.

It is both, anyway it is both for me. It is actually very stiff but will flex to some extend. The rod I use is the .40 cal rod and it is thick (.375 3/8ths")

The thinner rods for CF are flexible also and actually can whip to a certain extent - but the ML rod is much thicker.

Carbon fiber rods are the best of both: the carbon fiber can't scratch your bore like stainless steel, and they won't embed like coated rods. Plus, Carbon Fiber rods can be bent to an extreme degree and return to their original straightness

At the range I have no problem loading the most difficult combinations.

It is a lot stiffer than you think it might be...
