I am looking at shot snakes/flasks/chargers.
I have not handled either and will likely need
to order on line.

I see Irish and English heads and while I can tell the difference,
I do not know if there are advantages for one over the other.

Also, they seem pricey for what they are and there are few sources. TOTW is sold out of all except one that comes with a fowler's bag for 186.00. I would like to avoid that.

Let me know if you have lower price sources? Let me know if you have any experience with
these? Thanks.

The Irish works better than the English. I bought mine from Dixie Gun Works for under $100. Even that is too much.

I found that it's easier to pre-weigh charges and keep them in Lane's tubes. White caps for shot, red caps for powder. I seldom use my Irish snake.

Some place I saw just the heads for sale. Will try to find it latter. Make your own cool bag. Try Taylors or Track Of the Wolf.

Thanks Grumpy and everyone. Dixie also has an Irish charger head.
the English head is 55.99 and the Irish is 59.95... so far.

Watch Ebay. I picked up a shot pouch with English head for like $30. The leather is rotten so I removed the head and used the pouch as a pattern to recreate my own.
