I have a lot of .50 saboted projectiles and conicals but I no longer have an inline. Have any of you tried them in a 1:48" twist T/C?

Don't have a T/C, but a lot of 1:48's. Mine like Hornady Great Plains 385 over 90 gr. T7, and Saboted 45/240 and 300 XTP's over 100gr. T7. The pointy bullets do not stabilize for me.

It might surprise you how well a 1-48 twist will shoot sabots. All you can do is try them. Sabotloader has worked up some excellent loads for sabots in his Hawkins. I am sure he would be more then willing to share. I have shot 240-300 grain projectiles and got good accuracy, but I am more of a traditional shooter like you.

I have shot a lot of sabots from a 1/48 - you might really be surprised how they do shoot. If all things were equal in this world it would make sense the 240-250 class bullet should perform very well from a 1/48 - but I had my best success with a 300 grain bullet..

I've shot them from my .50 Grey Hawk, and they grouped as well or better than anything else. I've only used real BP, and with sabots wiping is required between shots. 300gr Barnes (all copper HPs) keyholed for me but 240gr XTPs and 250gr FTX(pointed) shot very well.

I shoot them just fine in my flint, but the puroists cringe when I do that. Very consistent patterns out of my Deerdstalker w/ a 250 grain anything in a sabot and 80 grains of Goex.
