Powder came in today as it was snowing like a SOB. After i weighed some 3 charges i went out and shot some 270gr Powerbelt Platinums. Great was darn good considering how i was shaking

Loaded 3 more but used the 295gr powerbelts and they shot great as well.

Used CCI 209M primers and ignition in the Factory CVA plug was perfect.

Im going to try the 295's again but i upped the charge from 70gr (Weight) to 75gr just to see if that will help tighten things a bit. If theres no snow tomorrow, i'll be shooting 100 yards this time out.

105 grains maybe.

71 grains = 100 grain volume

I just loaded up Five 120 grain (volume) loads with the 245 powerbelt for tomorrow and 5 105gr loads with the 338 platinum

10 Grains..................................................7.1 Grains
20 Grains................................................14.2 Grains
30 Grains................................................21.3 Grains
40 Grains................................................28.4 Grains
50 Grains................................................35.5 Grains
60 Grains................................................42.6 Grains
70 Grains................................................49.7 Grains
80 Grains................................................56.8 Grains
90 Grains................................................63.9 Grains
100 Grains..............................................71.0 Grains
110 Grains..............................................78.1 Grains
120 Grains..............................................85.2 Grains

I would be VERY cautious with charges over 110gr of BH209 in a Accura.

Mine was showing slight high pressure signs on the primers. They were beginning to flow into the slot on either side of the firing pin.

Granted mine is a 45 so it does build a bit more pressure than a 50. Plus i was shooting very heavy 40cal bullets in a sabot.

Would it be a good idea to keep loads down around 90g BH209 with Powerbelts? That is for a hunting load.

With the 338 Platinum (Elk bullet) i wouldnt be afraid to use 100-110 BH209

Now with the 245-295 powerbelts, I stuff them with my inserts to prevent the bomb effect  I will have to retest them with this powder to find the max load.

I'll also retest the factory 245-295 with lower charges of BH209 and post the max load info on those.
