I finally got BH209 to work well today in my .50 Disc Elite. I previously had ignition problems, with any of the 3 breech plugs.
How I fixed it-
1. Switched from Winchester 209 to Federal 209 primers, which are hotter.
2. I went back to the FPJ concave breech plug. I cleaned the carbon out with drill bits. I opened up the flash hole to .038", since that's the drill bit I was able to find.
Ignition was great, and the accuracy was good also. A 3-shot 100 yard group of 1.06" (center-to-center) with 100 gr of BH209 and a 200 gr shockwave.
I'm pretty happy with this setup now.

All of my ignition problems with BH209 in the Disc Elite went away with firm loading pressure and a tight fitting sabot. Fed 209A and CCIM are my favorite primers as well. 110gr BH209, Fed 209A, and 50/40 Shockwave is my best load in the .50. 3/4" at 100 yards. I'm using the non-FPJ.

Anybody have any luck with any of the .452 Shockwave or SSTs in the Disc Elite? I could do no better than 1.5" @ 100.
