I've seen quite a few photos, all taken prior to WWII, of hunters in the southwest with one or more jaguars (the cat, not the car) displayed. If what I've often read is indeed true these cats averaged larger in the SW states than farther south into Mexico. Regardless, they are the third largest cat we have: Tiger, Lion, Jaguar, Cougar and leopard. Reports have circulated that they might not be completely extirpated from the US, and that some still migrate here.

Does anyone have information concerning the cat?
