Long day with Optima

I made a better rifle rest today and boy did it turn out to be a good one! Just a pillow case filled 1/4 of the way with sand i shoveled into it.

All shots are from 100 yards.
80gr bh209 - 338gr Powerbelt Platinums.

Took 2 more shots with the same load. I think barrel heat was causing my shots to move to the left and up. It was 70* out today.

245gr Powerbelt Aerotip - 80gr BH209.

245gr Powerbelt Aerotip - 90gr BH209 My hunting load! The shot to the far left was my first shot on a cool barrel. Ahhhh man i screwed up and typed 100gr on the target

295gr Powerbelt Aerotip - 100gr BH209. Again, far left shot #1 on cool barrel,

Can't wait to scope the Accura again and work it over again on this rest!

Why do you not just break down and get a good rest... might help your groups. + they are so much more portable you can shoot anywhere you want and not have to pack a pillow case of sand around...

Yep, the scoped Optima. The Accura comes out tomorrow with 110gr bh209 and the 245 PB.

The sand bag will do for a while. 95% of the time im shooting in my back yard so theres no hauling it around. Just throw a towel over it and its fine.

My order of Thors came in today and perfect timing! I first shot 3 shots @ 100 yards with the 245gr powerbelt with 90gr BH209. Same group as yesterday, only i think i tightened it up a bit since then. Talk about consistent!
#2 shot is the lowest,

Now with the 250gr ballistic tip Thors, i also used 90gr BH209. The second shot is the highest/Left shot. For some reason this rifle always has the #2 open up, I am thinking it is due to Barrel Heat up. The next 2 are in that big hole that opened up.

Went back to the house to reload my powder tubes and brought it back out. Again! #2 is the highest to the left. Shots 1 & 3 again are touching like the last time.

Later this evening i am going back out again when it is cooler. I'll up my charge to 100gr BH209 and see how it does.
