You can usually tell if a gun was taken care of when you first check it out. Look for rust/pitting in the breech area and inside the bore by taking the breechplug out or putting down a bore light to check the rifling.

Also ask what powder was shot out of the gun, that will tell you if the gun was used with a corosive powder and what to look for.

TOYTRUCK has it covered , if it's a TRADITION LT fire only one primer [209] to see if the firepin hits dead center on the primer ..
 
Try to handle the gun if possible to see if it fits you. Length of pull and drop of the stock are important and a photograph won't be as useful as shouldering the gun (rifle). Don't ask how I know this!
