Are fed. primers hard to come by everywhere or just here in ME All of my CF loads,T7 and soon my Omega loads are based on Fed primers.I have some but hate to think about having to switch.

Yup. :( Fed Primers in small and large rifle are non-existant to the public. One local dealer told me not to look for Fed primers for "a good long while" because Federal had the most military and ammo manufacturer contracts, so they are busy with them. CCI, Remington and Wolf seem to be trying to get them to the public though. I also used Federal almost exclusively and am going to start working loads up with CCI. Fed small rifle match primers were "The" primer for the Benchrest community and they can't get them either, but a lot of those guys buy several cases at a time. I have heard that they have been using the Wolf primers and some have said they now prefer them.

Went to local gun show last Sat. and two vendors had Fed. 209 A's; however, they were priced at #45 & $43 per 1000. I passed, as I have enough for awhile.

Local gun shop had thousands of em (209A) when i was there a few weeks ago. $3.99 for 100 or $33 for 1000.

Our local gunshop has all that you want. I was waiting for CCI's and he now has them also---all you want. I remember the last time we had a Democrat president--- I waited 1 1/2 years for primers. When Denny finally got them in I bought 3000-4000 of each type that I needed. I still have some of those left. At least this time I only had to wait for 6 months after the Socialists got in. I feel sorry for you fellows in the Northeast. You're outnumbered by the Anti's by quite a bit. Hopefully this time you'll stock up in case our comrades lose all their good sense at election time again.

primers

When I see 3-4,000 primers, my first question is do these have a expiration date to them? That is why I have never bought them that large amount. I will buy 4-500 a year.

Bucker, Keep em cool and dry they will last many many years. Benchresters by them by the case, 5k per case. Some of those guys may have 3 or 4 cases stashed away. Ive seen a couple guys still shooting the old Red box federals. They changed to a white box a few years ago.

Mountainam, Are you in north Jackson (the city) or north Jackson County? I'm from Gallia county (Rio Grande) and will be back there first of June. I would love to know what shop you go to, might pay them a visit when I get back home.
