Bagged this nice size PA Doe (weighed 145 lb field dressed) on Monday within first hour of season. CLOSE 25 YD shot with my Henry Ball 10 ML-II shooting Barnes 300 grain MZ Expanders loaded with 45 grains AA-5744.
Placed shot thru center of lungs to see how these Expanders would do on a close lung shot. I squeezed off and the doe went down like a ton of bricks were dropped on it! Pics of inside chest are below to show damage. It looked like bullet immediately expanded on contact. Likely fps was about 2,200 at hit. Bullet drilled threw & wasnt recovered. I found a hole in ground where I thought it went but after diggin for about a foot I gave up. This is one mean bullet after seeing what it did on my Tenn Wild Boar in April & this large doe. A very accurate bullet that gives outstanding penetration & expansion!

Hunted Bear & Buck rest of week. Saw no Bear & no quality Bucks within PA Antler Restriction Regulation mim. 6 PT.

Flintlock is on tap next...after Xmas. Just got back from mountains & am already dreamin bout next hunt! :D

Jim, I usually carry my lil Hi-Power when I'm at my huntin camp back in the woods. Tuff to get good insurance on those backwoods properties...so its self-insure..
