The high heat and pressure from modern smokeless powders when fired in the Savage 10ML-II is said to have the potential to blow out and/or deform the plastic sabots thus decreasing accuracy and consistentcy.

The Muzzleloading Magnum Sub Bases, http://muzzleloadingbullets.com/muzzlel ... bases.html , is said to help with that issue and improve accuracy/consistentcy, etc.

Do they work or help?

Thanks, Dave

I have used them but did not find that they helped me. I no longer use them but just use the MMP sabots alone.
